NType is Windows text and code editing software. The current public release is provided free of charge. No purchase or subscription is required to use the current free release.
You may install and use NType for lawful personal or business editing work. You are responsible for the files, scripts and code you open, edit, create or run with the software.
Editing software can modify or overwrite files at your instruction. Keep independent backups of important documents and source code. NType is not a backup service.
The main NType download is designed to retrieve the current stable installer from the official distribution location and verify release integrity before installation. Avoid modified or unofficial copies when the official download is available.
NType includes or relies on third-party components such as Scintilla and Lexilla. Those components remain subject to their own licence notices. These Terms do not replace or restrict rights granted by applicable third-party licences.
While the goal is to keep the current stable release available, the website, download service, update mechanism, support arrangements and future compatibility may change, be interrupted or be discontinued.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NType is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without a promise that it will be error-free or suitable for every purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
You must not use the official NType name, website or distribution channel to misrepresent altered software as an official release, distribute malicious modifications, or interfere with the operation or security of the download infrastructure.
These Terms may be revised as the software and distribution process evolve. The effective date will be updated when material changes are published.
See the NType Privacy Policy for information about local editor behaviour and the website/download infrastructure.
